For those over 66, you can apply for a free rail pass to travel around Ireland. That is a great deal, especially since it can be difficult to rent a car for those over 70. (For those planning to rent a car, you should be aware that it is very expensive, since you must take the insurance.) With the rail pass, you can take the train from location to location and hire a local tour guide to take you around the locations you're visiting.
