Belfast Research Trip

This past week I added a flyer on the Belfast Research to the 2016 Research Trip page.  I’ve had a number of people indicate interest and so if I get 10 participants by 30 April, I will move forward with the trip.  If I don’t get enough people, I will make a final decision and if it doesn’t work out, I’ll return the deposit.

The trip will begin on Sunday, October 9th and end on Saturday, October 15.  We will be staying at the Premier Inn, Titantic Quarter which is just across the street from the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI).  On Saturday, anyone who wants to do the Dublin trip as well, will then be able to train down to Dublin.  The main repository is the PRONI, although there will be an opportunity to visit other sites in Belfast as well, including the Linen Hall Library and the General Register Office.  I’m also planning for a day trip to the Ulster American Folk Park and the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies in Omagh.

If you’re interested, complete the registration form and return it with your deposit.  Please feel free to share this information with your local genealogical society and friends.  You can check out my blogs from 2014 from the Belfast Research Trip.

   Happy Hunting!

Don’t forget that early Registration for the NGS Conference ends on March 31st.  Don’t miss out!
