I'm just back from the FGS conference in Ft. Wayne. It was a wonderful conference, a great time with good friends, and a great learning experience. Ft. Wayne is one of the best locations for a conference because it's the home of the Allen County Public Library, the second largest genealogy library in the U.S.
There were lots of announcements around the conference, including from Ancestry. Just click on the link above to get access to Ancestry's Immigration collection free over Labor Day Weekend. Also from Ancestry was the announcement of Family Tree Maker 2014. Available "soon," it has many new features, including a new family view, improved TreeSync and new chart and tree reports. Ancestry is offering a 30% discount on pre-orders, and you can click on the link below for additional information. This is the PC version with the Mac version due later this year. If you are currently a FTM user, now's the time to order your upgrade.
