I’m leaving for Ireland on Wednesday. This year I have a group of researchers in Belfast from October 9-15, and in Dublin from October 16-23. If you’d like to know more about the trip, follow the blog. While I’m away, I blog just about every day, so you’ll get a feel for the trip in case you’re interested in joining me in the future. If you’ve followed the blog in the past you’ll find some new activities this year. On October 12th the Belfast group will be traveling to the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, Tyrone. After a visit to the Park, they’ll have the opportunity to work in the Mellon Centre for Emigration Studies. The following week in Dublin the group will be visiting EPIC Ireland, a new museum focused on “how Ireland’s Diaspora changed the world.”
Some other things I’d like to share. I’m honored to have been selected as one of the genealogy coaches at genealogy.coach If you need a bit of help on your Irish research why not schedule a consultation. I’ll be accepting appointments once I get back from Ireland beginning on October 26.
I’ll also be lecturing at RootsTech in February in Salt Lake City. You only have two weeks to take advantage of the Early Bird Pricing so don’t delay. With over 200 classes to choose from, this is a great opportunity to attend a wonderful conference with the added benefit of being able to spend time at the Family History Library.
And finally, don’t forget about the Genealogy Cruise the week of February 26th on the beautiful Celebrity Silhouette. I sailed on this ship in June and it was wonderful. For additional information contact Herb at Cruise Everything (800) 359-SHIP.
