Our flight to San Diego was about an hour and a half late, but we got here! We could see the ship this morning from the hotel, so after breakfast we took a walk down along the waterfront past the U.S.S. Midway and a statue of "The Kiss." I don't know if this is the same statue that was in Sarasota or another copy.
We boarded the ship about 1 p.m. and spent the afternoon exploring. Our cabin is on deck two toward the very front of the ship. It's quiet and comfortable. The ship was supposed to depart at 4 p.m., but was about two hours late getting off. I met with the Activity Director and the Cruise Director and taped an interview late in the afternoon and am scheduled for my first lecture tomorrow morning (a sea day).
Dinner for us is the late seating (8:30) and we are at table for 8...we were the only ones that showed up! We'll find out tomorrow whether everyone was just too tired, or if we'll be eating alone. <g>. They've also slightly changed the itinerary deleting Acapulco from the schedule (because of drug violence) and replacing it with Puerto Vallarta.
